This full-day in-person session helps administrative professionals strengthen how they anticipate needs, follow work through to completion, and communicate clearly across priorities, people, and timelines.

Administrative work rarely moves in a straight line. Tasks depend on decisions, inputs come from multiple directions, and progress often depends on someone noticing what needs attention before it becomes urgent. This session focuses on how to stay ahead of the work — not by doing more, but by seeing what matters earlier and managing it more deliberately.

The session can be taken on its own, and it also connects naturally to the rest of The Administration Series. Where Workflow and Control focuses on building structure around the work, Thinking Ahead and Follow-Through focuses on how that work is actively managed as it moves. It also supports development of stronger judgment, which is the focus of the next session.

AI in the session

AI is used as a practical support layer for preparation, summaries, communication support, and workback planning.

Participants will leave better able to:

  • identify what is coming next and where attention is needed
  • follow work through to completion across multiple steps and people
  • communicate clearly around status, priorities, and next steps
  • keep work moving even as priorities shift

This session is designed to improve:

  • anticipation
  • follow-through
  • communication around progress and priorities
  • the ability to keep work from stalling

Cancellation policy

Cancellations received 14 or more calendar days before the session are eligible for a 50% refund. Cancellations received fewer than 14 calendar days before the session are non-refundable. A substitute attendee from the same organization may attend in the registrant’s place at no additional charge. Transfer requests to a future session, if offered, may be considered at the organizer’s discretion.
